Today I am 48 and feeling great!!! (well, sort of!) Other than the inner ear infection that I've been fighting with all week, the after-effects of the antibiotics to treat same, I am feeling great.
I had my first facial last night. Boy, was that a wonderful treat. She (my esthetician) applied some sort of mud mask that smelled like heaven. My face has never had such a silky feel to it. She wouldn't even charge me for it since it was my birthday. She is a wonderful lady and friend.
My sweet husband is taking me to see the new DeNiro / Pacino movie today and then out for Mexican food. This may not sound like much to many folks but (a) My husband detests sitting in movie theatres (b) My husband detests Mexican food even more. I may let him off of the hook on the Mexican food part of the deal. We can compromise on that one! I am thinking that he is agreeable to the movie only because it stars 2 of his favorite fellow Italian countrymen. :)
My oldest son left me a very sweet card and the new Al Green CD. I've been a fan of Al Green since I was about 12 years old.
I received a very sweet card from my daughter and son-in-law. It's funny how my daughter has begun to appreciate me in a different way since she now has a family of her own. Perhaps she has realized that I wasn't QUITE so stupid after all!! We had some rows during her teen years but she is an excellent Mother to my grandson and is expecting a new baby in the spring. She is married to a great guy and they have accomplished more in their early 20's than most do in a lifetime--and all on their own.
My youngest son had to be at work at 7 am but has invited me out for breakfast tomorrow. That means a lot since he works in a restaurant and going out for food is probably the last thing he wants to do---but then again, I have exceptional children. It means a lot as a parent to know that your children love and respect you- we are always here for our children no matter what the problem and love them unconditionally. I guess there's a lot to be said for "what goes around, comes around."
This promises to be a lovely day and for all of the above reasons, I am most grateful.

I'm curious where you went for good Mexican food in your parts? The last time I was in Titusville I was craving Mexican food (I'm from California) and we found this restaurant there in T-Ville. It was just... okay. I don't mean to be mean, but the burrito I ordered was made with ground beef, which really upset me as I am used to shredded beef from Mexican restaurants. However, the Puerto Rican or Cuban restaurant I went to in that area was delicious! As was the Malaysian one on the river in T-Ville. I'm going there again the next time I visit or move out there.
It's called La Bamba and it's on US 1 South in Rockledge. The food is all very fresh ---last time I had a vegetarian burrito that was filled with FRESH spinach. It was so good. The salsa is homemade and you can taste the fresh cilantro.
I know of the place you speak of in Titusville- it was good many years ago.
We have a really good Thai / Japanese restaurant beachside called Siam Orchid. We eat there all of the time.
Thanks for the recommendation! I'm racking my brain trying to remember the place on the Indian River that we ate at that was so good....
Oh well. I just remember it was yellow and sortof looked like a hut. I think it was Pineapple Bay. It is listed under Chinese, but I wouldn't categorize it as such.
