Whining

Last month, in order to cut down on some of our monthly expenses, I had our television cable cut down to basic. It didn't seem so bad at first- we got the local channels, WGN out of Chicago, CW and quite a few religious and Spanish channels. I don't speak Spanish and most of them appear to be really badly produced Spanish soap operas. We have a local religious channel that plays old shows like Father Knows Best and My Three Sons in the evenings. I can handle that.
However, I was home sick yesterday and would have given my right arm to watch the old movie channel. Heck, I would have been happy to watch Animal Planet and I am not an animal lover. I surfed to the TBN channel that airs religious shows out of southern California. The lady was on with the piled-high pinkish hair that is teased beyond belief. I stared incredulously as she cried and prayed for a chicken that had gotten hit by a car. No kidding! She sort of reminds me of a cheap spin-off of Tammy Faye Baker- who's former husband now has a new wife and a new TV show. He was on daytime TV as well hawking his wares for money. Some things never change! I actually became a fan of Tammy Faye in her later years- she was a hoot. She often made fun of herself and I applaud her for that.

I keep calling the local cable company to see if they are running any specials. I am secretly hoping that they will feel sorry for me and turn the standard cable back on at no extra charge--hey, I can dream can't I???

I know it's an unnecessary expense and that we don't need it. I cut the bill down by nearly $40. I've given up my monthly pedicures, which costs about $40 with tip. So, I was thinking, MAYBE I could justify turning the cable back on. Any suggestions??

I think that perhaps I should just quit whining and be thankful that we have any TV at all!!!

We've been "basic" for donkey's years. Instead I spend $9 per month on Netflix and get an additional 12,000 movies that I can watch streamed into the computer. I am ODing on the Tudors right now.
My pedicurist only charges $20.00, includes an awesome massage! Road trip to Tidybowl?
