This hasn't exactly been one of the best years of my life- HOWEVER, it's over and that's a very positive thing. I feel very hopeful and optimistic about 2010. I am still in good health (albeit for losing a few pounds but that's manageable), I have a job ( I also received a very generous Christmas bonus) and my children, grandchildren and husband are doing fine.
My youngest was home for nearly 2 weeks with his new puppy and we really enjoyed having both of them. That dog is so darned cute- I didn't want to like it but I couldn't resist. My oldest son graduated from college with honors on Dec. 18th.It was a very emotional day for both myself and my husband. We went out for a very nice family dinner that evening and invited along my husband's sister and her husband. They've always been very supportive and loving to us and our children. It was nice to be able to include them.
Christmas was quiet and uneventful as was New Year's Eve and Day. I did cook a bunch of Sesame Chicken, rice and eggrolls for NY Eve dinner. Invited same sister in law and husband over- it was nice. We laughed and reminisced about old times. Both of our sons were home as well. I enjoyed it very much. Being Southern, I prepared the ribs, collards, black eyed peas and cornbread for New Year's Day. It's not that I really believe that they bring good luck- I just like the taste of the food and hey, why take any chances??
I hope that everyone in my circle of family, friends, blogging buddies and even those that I don't know personally has a very blessed 2010. It can only go up from last year.
