Week-End Shenanigans

I had plans to take a friend out for her birthday on Saturday- then realized that I was pretty much broke so she took a rain check. Thank goodness she is an understanding friend.
I decided to get started on our taxes instead for the reason I just mentioned- I am broke. I have the software and a friend said she'd pay for me to upgrade it for 09 if I'd do their taxes. Fair enough. I went to install the software and the CD drives were not working- AT ALL. This was Friday evening after a particularly grueling Friday. Work wasn't bad but I attended the memorial service of a young lady that attended grade school with my daughter. She was in an accident last week-end and died. I saw all of these faces from Divine Mercy School that I hadn't seen since they all graduated from the 8th grade. Young people shouldn't be burying their own. It was a tragedy that could have been avoided.
Anyway, I wasn't in the mood for this computer crap after all of that. I saw that one of my computer friends was online on Facebook so I asked him what it could be. He got the real geek online and he diagnosed the drive as being dead...GREAT! I've got our taxes as well as other folks to get done this week-end. He offered to repair it at his home on Saturday morning. These guys are great- known them for nearly 15 years.
I got up early on Saturday morning to get the grocery shopping knocked out- did my usual tour of 3 different stores to stay within budget. Lugged it all home and unloaded- the unhooked CPU and put it in my car to take for repair. Poor guy ran into a couple of snags and he ended up spending nearly an hour and a half on it. He wouldn't take a dime. Like I said, these are great guys. Hearts of gold.
Lugged said computer back home and began doing what I needed to do in between cooking some BBQ chicken and potato salad which I had had a hankering for all week.
By 9 pm last evening, I was toast. Crawled into bed and slept like a baby. Woke up this morning with a slight sore throat and a very sore back. I am attributing the back to all of the loading and unloading I did yesterday. The sore throat- I don't know. I just want it to go away...Made a nice dinner for the fam of spaghetti and Italian sausage , kale greens, salad and garlic bread.
I am going to take my shower and call it a night very soon! Am going to post on Feb. 4th as that is the 25th birthday of my daughter who is also my oldest child. I can recall her birth like it was yesterday.
Hoping everyone has a good Monday and a great week!
