I wanted to post on February 4th, which was my daughter's 25th birthday. Well, the day got away from me and it didn't happen. I did remember to send her a card on time with some gift cards inside. I also called a neat little cupcake bakery in her town and had them deliver a dozen yummy cupcakes. My grandson, who is nearly 4 years old, told her after eating one,"I have an idea, let's keep these in the pantry." The pantry shelves are at his level and I am sure he envisioned having access to them at any time of day or night. ( I actually would have let him had he been at my house but then that's the advantage of being the grandmother!)
It surely doesn't seem like a quarter of a century ago that I gave birth to my wonderful daughter. She's always been an interesting girl. Being our only girl, she pretty much had her way with my husband from day one. She had him wrapped like a bandage around her finger. Her brothers came along in rapid succession and she became very protective of "the boys" as she calls them.
We had a couple of bumps during the teen years but nothing out of control. She met and married her high school sweetheart. We were able to give her a nice, traditional wedding . They will be married 7 years this summer. She has given us 2 wonderful grandchildren and is a great mother to them. I am proud of her in ways that I can't even express.
So, although belated, Happy Birthday to Catherine!!
