Nanny got an A-

A couple of weeks ago, my doctor tricked me into getting a physical. He figured since he had me in his office for the first time in nearly a year and likely wouldn't have me back in there for another year, he'd better pounce. He was also aware that I had recently gotten decent health insurance coverage from my new employer so I wouldn't be in debt for a few tests.
He ordered a full blood panel, chest x-rays, EKG and urine testing. I wasn't thrilled but went along to be a good sport. Not to mention, I hadn't had any of the above done in nearly 10 years so I was curious as to the condition of my innards.
I went back today for the follow-up visit and was pleasantly surprised. Everything was fine- cholesterol is borderline. He told me to avoid ice cream and cow's milk- I consume neither. The only milk I drink is soy or almond. I use soy creamer in my coffee. I do love cheese but don't eat it as often as I used to. We do have a steak every lunar landing when they go on sale but I am otherwise a pretty healthy eater.
I was pleased, especially since my 50th birthday is looming, to know that I am in pretty good shape. I need to lose a few pounds but am going to the gym at least 3 times a week (which in itself can help with the cholesterol) .
I didn't tell the kindly doc that tonight's menu was roast beef and provolone toasted subs. I was too happy with the knowledge that everything else was ticking along as it's supposed to be.
