Sickness Beyond my Wildest Dreams

Easter came with no particular fanfare. We had a nice dinner and homemade dessert- watched a little television and toddled off to bed. Hubby awoke around 3 am to begin a journey in his boat that would lead to the holy fishing grounds south of us. I bid him good-bye and went back to bed. Around 4 am, the strangest feeling washed over me- I haven't had one like that in years. I was going to be sick and NOW. I raced to the bathroom to begin what was to be an additional 8 hours of stomach virus. Now, I had been feeling pretty cocky as this particular virus has hit our county twice and I have not been privy to it. The joke was on me. I've never been so sick in my entire life. Of course, husband was gone as well. I had my son phone my place of employment as I could barely speak. Monday was a blur and I felt as though I was in stomach virus hell. I figured it would be over by Monday evening at worst. SURPRISE! My son came in on Monday evening to check on me- I was shivering as though I was in the middle of Antartica. Couldn't get warm no matter what I did. We managed to find a thermometer to see what was going on- I had a fever of over 102 degrees. I was delirious. Couldn't make it to work on Tuesday. I called my boss who was very understanding and told him I'd shoot for Wednesday. I still couldn't move on Wednesday morning but managed to attempt work around 10 am. By noon, I was in tears and had to go back home.
I finally managed to work all day Thursday and Friday. I feel like I lost part of my life last week- I guess it's more difficult when you get older.
Moving on---hope this week will be better.
