I can hardly believe that nearly 15 months have passed since my last blog. WOW!! Let me back track and see what has been going on--The summer of 2010 moved by without any particular fanfare. We made a pilgrimage to upstate NY in September to visit our daughter and her family. My husband and oldest son made the trip by car- stopping to golf up the East coast. I flew up as I didn't have much time off from work. We all loaded into 2 vehicles and made the trek over to Montreal (where hubby hails from). He got a chance to show the older of our children where he was born as well as a bit of the city. Had a nice lunch with family and celebrated my 50th birthday. It was an all in all wonderful trip.
Christmas was bit different this year. Hubby had the chance to go fishing and earn some much needed extra cash. He asked me if I minded- meaning minded waking up alone on Christmas Day. I replied that I didn't. Youngest had left for San Francisco to help a friend move the week before so he wasn't at home, either. Oldest son and his fiance (they were engaged in Nov 10) did come to the house mid-morning. It was just a wee bit unusual- I hadn't been alone on a Christmas morning in many years. We spent Christmas evening at my sister-in-laws as her husband was recovering from open heart surgery- I made dinner, packed it up in my car and the 4 of us ate together. It was very nice. Oldest son was offered a position with the Florida Historical Society in February of 2011- it is a job that he's well suited for. He bought me a ticket to NY for Christmas so I got to go up to visit the daughter and fam while it was still snowing. I also did Career Day at my grandson's parochial school. Great fun! Now, the wedding planning is in full swing as oldest son will wed in December 2011. All of my children and grandchildren will be in one place for a week or so. I can't wait! I have been at my job for nearly 2 years and it has worked out very well. Youngest son has a new love and they are both working to finish school in Gainesville. I like her very much and hope she's "the one." Hubby and I are trying to age gracefully! That's my update ---

Forgot 2 major things- step-father got his 2nd kidney transplant. I am writing a low cost, healthy cookbook. May be selling baked goods prior so that I can pay to have it published. A giant bake sale as it were!
